Description
Inspired partly by reading most of ch1 of Elora's story, and partly inspired by the song "Bad Girlfriend" by Theory of a Dead Man. Reason: Astronema was the baddie of the show, thus her being the "bad" in "Bad Girlfriend." But it was mostly the line "Mess with her, she'll f**k you up" line that really was the clencher for me. Astronema has a temper, that's no secret.
Now, the background took as long to draw as the actual drawing (it would have taken a bit less had I not stopped to watch a special on how Batman's technology is pretty factual). What is sad about that is that it looks pretty crappy for the time put into it. The perspective is all screwy depending on where you look. But, too bad. I only added it so that they weren't floating in emptiness. I could have tried harder, but I was tired of it after working on it for about five hours.
If you ever watched Power Rangers in Space, you'll wonder why the hell is their enemy on the ship. Well, somehow, Zhane sneaked her in. Elora and I had a good laugh about how Andros would go ballistic if he caught the two of them making out on his ship. The discussion ended in Andros having to be put into a "induced coma" just to keep him under control. (that's in quotations because Elora said it)
Anyway, I really love these two as a couple—whether she's Astronema or Karone, I don't care. They work.
OH, another thing I need to note. I gave Zhane a more muscular physique than the actual actor had just because I wanted to. I always wanted to see a sort of buffed Ranger, but it didn't happen in the time I watched the shows (although, I only watched MMPR up until they became ninja rangers—I swear the guy who did the voice of that one ninja "spirit" or whatever he was did the voice of Wishbone, you know the show about the dog who read books)—I remember seeing the pilot episode for PRiS and loving Andros. I have this thing for guys with long hair. And, it seems I've had a thing for angry, moody guys as well—I was a fan of Raphael from the Ninja Turtles when I was 5). So if you've watched it more than I have and have seen a buff ranger, that's cool. I just don't claim to have watched all the rebirths of the show, just a few, and have missed that.
Power Rangers in Space I suppose is (C) by Bandai (the show used to be) and it used to air on FOX, then aired on Family Channel. Anyway, rights to respectful owners—none of which being me.
